This interactive uses innocent snapshots of a cricket team, a school group and family portraits to reveal the breadth of wartime realities for Taranaki people. Each of these photographs holds many stories.
There are boys who swapped their cricket whites for battle dress, those left to cope at home, those who struggled and those who thrived.
