Bringing it Home: Taranaki and World War One
Scratch the surface of history and stories emerge of courage, heartbreak and triumph of people at home and in battle.

This interactive uses innocent snapshots of a cricket team, a school group and family portraits to reveal the breadth of wartime realities for Taranaki people. Each of these photographs holds many stories.

There are boys who swapped their cricket whites for battle dress, those left to cope at home, those who struggled and those who thrived.

If you have any further information to add to these photographs please visit the staff at the Taranaki Research Centre / Te Pua Wānanga o Taranaki on Level 2 of Puke Ariki Library.
